- Introduce who you are, what you do, and where you went to college.
- Give an overview of your experience with technology. Are you a Mac or PC person? What technology do you use in the classroom? What version of MS Office are you using?
- Tell us what inspired you to pursue your Master's degree at Peru State College. What do you plan to do with your degree?
My name is Kimmie Vogt and I teach Science and Math to 4, 5 and 6th graders. I went to college from 1997 until 2003. Shortly, there after, I started my Masters degree through University of Nebraska -Kearney.
I am highly skilled in the areas of technology and fixing technology. Sometimes technology doesn't work and you have to find other ways to accomplish what you are trying to do in a different way or path. I am both a Mac and PC person. I use a Macbook Air, HP laptop, Chromebooks, iPhones/iPads and sometimes a Dell laptop.
In my classroom, we have Chromebooks for my all my students that work as a laptop and a tablet. Programs on a Chromebook are web based. I use Google Classroom to organized everything that we do in class.
I use Microsoft 365, the full version that I pay for on a subscription but I also use an educator's version for free with my school accounts.
I pursued a Master's degree in 2011 in the area of Technology with an emphasis on Library Media at the time. Later I went back and received another endorsement in Information Technology. I am actually considering a second Master's degree in Computer Science. We will see if I pursue that in the next couple years.
It is my pleasure and I really enjoy teaching online for Peru State College. Sometimes, technology can be difficult and I hope that we can communicate and work together to solve problems and help you on your path in the Master's program at Peru State College.
